5.4 Non-persons
Non-persons are human beings without minds, without the executive function to form psychological continuity. While they may be minimally sentient, able to display negative responses to painful stimuli and positive responses to pleasurable stimuli and capable of stimulus response learning, their behaviors are unfocused and not purposive. They lack emotion, language, pictures, music, and concern either for themselves or others. They may be unable to evoke from persons any moral emotion beyond pity.
