2.5 Authorship and peer review
Graphics Format01-Sep-2007
It's clear we must publish to advance an academic career, but it is not always clear who is entitled to be an author. How much work must I do to be eligible to be an author? Who makes this decision? How often and where may I publish work? May I publish simultaneously in conference proceedings and a journal?
The assigned readings address these questions, but ultimately you'll need local guidance from your adviser. Be prepared to raise these issues when adviser invites you to be a coauthor by reviewing Duke University's policy and clicking here for a sample video of what to expect.
