2.4 Women and under-represented groups

In this module we talk about the issues facing women and under-represented minorities. These issues are historical in nature and relate to faculty expectations of students, family responsibilities, and career possibilities. We suggest that mentoring is crucial to the success of women and under-represented minorities and describe mentoring and discuss some of the special considerations mentors face when working with women and under-represented minorities.
